I would like to thank you for your support and for Danielle's support during my stay in Perth over the weekend. It was wonderful to be informed that you had arranged a back up support worker for me in case any issues came up.  That is real planning!  

You were wonderfully understanding about the change to my flight, which was very stressful in the beginning.  I needn't have worried, you were brilliant. You picked an excellent support worker who is flexible and has a can do attitude.  I cannot recommend her enough.  Danielle went above and beyond when we ran out of time and I could not deliver my daughters necessities to the hospital she was unfortunately staying in.  Danielle dropped my daughters things off after leaving the airport. Having such an organised team and such a helpful support worker made my trip so much easier. The stress of travelling to such an important event, my sons wedding, disappeared once I arrived in Perth.  Everything went exceptionally well and we had a good old chuckle too. 

Firstly, I wanted to thank The Star Care Group for the beautiful flowers that you sent on the day of Dad’s funeral. That was so thoughtful and so caring and just re-emphasised once again what a wonderful group of people you are and what a wonderful company you have and how lucky I was that Megan selected you and The Star Care Group to look after me while I was in Perth. The support workers that you selected to look after me were also of a very high standard and I can’t say enough about their standard of care, their kindness, their helpfulness and their indispensableness. Having Zi on the last day was an absolute blessing. She was so organised and calm in the face of my mild panic, she packed my bags beautifully, to the point where I knew where exactly everything was and she cleaned the Airbnb house so that it was spotless to the point where we got a 5* rating from the host for leaving the place in such a perfect condition “as if it was our own home”. When she returned at night, the beautiful sunny day had turned into a horrible, stormy, ‘pouring with rain’ night but she was more concerned that I got into the van dry rather than her, even though she didn’t have a raincoat or an umbrella. She got us to the airport on time and insisted on staying with us in departures until the flight kept getting delayed and delayed and finally we insisted she go home. I had so much fun with Zi that day. She made me laugh.  Everyone else was equally as brilliant, including Mercy, whose beautiful smile and bright spirits always uplifted mine. Danielle too has to be mentioned, she helped organise practically everything on the day. Joseph, who was so lovely to both me and Mum when he picked Mum up from the airport that night; and last, but not least, Desiree, who was a brilliant sounding board, a great listener, a great roster organiser, who helped with some wonderful advice. Once again, I have to thank you Kim and Desiree for everything you did to make my life so much easier.  By providing such excellent support workers who seemed tailored to fit my needs and fit my personality and by just being there for me, you, and The Star Care Group made what was a very horrible, horrible time, tolerable. I couldn’t have handled my time in Perth without you. I really mean that.  Jacqui and Sheba
